					<description>While I'm sure some nut cases heard God say vote for W, and many others believe God actually told them to, I'm talking about what GW Bush said. He said God wanted him to be president. He also said God told him to attack Iraq.

As my wife says, &quot;Crazy, rich people: the biggest threat to America.&quot;

As for your God of peace, I respect that. I studied the Jefferson Bible and doubting Thomas in college. If you look at what all the disciples agreed on, it was Jesus without the miracles. He taught peace, love, forgiveness, and charity. The opposite of the Republican party. My argument with the American Taliban is that the Gospel of Thomas, which should have been in the Bible, was stopped by The Church, and the book of Revelations, written by a different John - just a crazy preacher, really, trying to pull people away from Rome - should not have been in the Bible. But hey, I'm sure some of the Rapture Ready crowd is as convinced that it's all going to happen as Muslims are in their 72 virgins.

What bothers me is the self-fulfilling prophecy thing. If enough people think God wanted Bush to be president, then those people have the power to make decisions, like stirring up nuclear armed hornets nests, that will lead to the lake of fire they so desire.

As for forcing God's word on anyone, well, what do you call school prayer? If you don't pray, like everyone else, you are outcast. I know.

What do you call the Bush administration's skewing and suppressing of science? Work place safety (see today's &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/27/AR2006022701507.html&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;chromium rules story&lt;/a&gt;), global warming, birth control, abortion, the morning after pill. Hey, BTW, doesn't Leviticus (17:11) say that &quot;For the life of a creature is in the blood&quot;? That's 17 days.

What do you call stopping gay marriage? After all, until the 60's, whites and blacks getting married was &quot;against God.&quot;

And then there's the Faith Based Initiatives. All kinds of reports of these churches pressuring people to go to their church in return for the &quot;aid.&quot;

Then there's Terry Schiavo.

Just some of the examples of Bush shoving his faith down our throats.

But I'm really glad to hear you're not like that. You seem to have a John Prine sense of common sense. I like that.

					<description>You are not asking the right question. What good is religion should be your question from many of your murmerings. Religion is defined as man's quest to find God. This is the problem. Man can make up any old way to say this is the way to God and start a religion. In man's eyes that belief then means more to him than God and what ever that leads to is justified because one feels it has to do with God. Religion here is obviously the real evil. Interestingly enough there is an incredible mystery which reveals not only this but other astonishingly true answers about the human condition and what we are here for. Strangely enough this was written over many thousands of years and the mysteries all link together to prove that it was not written by man. Even stranger is that many people that read it take it in the form of knowledge about good and evil and become religious. There are those however that take it in the form of life and for those precious few it opens the door where we see religion is the opposite of Christ. Religion is what put Jesus on the cross, and is the tool of God's arch enemy, and how to avoid religion. If you read the bible this way you will find that it is a romance novel between man and God. That God created man with a body , soul and spirit. Thats what makes us different than animals. We have a spirit but early on man's spirit died because he fell out of contact with God through sin. God made a way for man to come back to God by God coming down to the earth and being born as a man and being crucifed for man's sins in that through mans belief in Christ his spirit becomes born again and actually mingles with God's spirit in our heart. As we read more of the bible and express the truth about God the stronger our spirit becomes and this finally results in Christ building His church for the expression of God. In this union Christ and the church enjoy an everlasting life in love. </description>

					<description>ANNDEE,

The Bible does not address whether or not the Evil One has a &quot;chosen people&quot;. I would argue, however, that since all are created by God, and God is all powerful, Satan could not select a few to be his own. The decision to walk with Satan is ones own, and many make that decision willingly.
Unfortunately, many others make that decision unwittingly by failing to accept the Truth. That Truth must be spread by believers.
I am happy to talk to you more.
I am blessed to know Him. Remember that the One who lives inside of me wants to live inside of you.
