Satan Wrote the Bible

A friend of mine started this new blog on Christmas:

Satan Wrote the Bible
Leave your leap of faith behind and use your God-given mind.

Before anyone gets all riled up and heads over there to raise hell, read what the author has to say:

The Satan essay is based on what those who believe there is a Satan believe about him. It is a rational argument using empathy. Its purpose is to make people think, nothing more or less. I have no desire to make anyone angry or upset or to change anyone’s belief.

It’s just Bible commentaries with an ironic twist. There is no advocation for any position, only the gentle skepticism of a wise man who cherishes thinking above almost everything.

Christian Spam

One of the “Christians” who didn’t much care for our questions has submitted this site to the comment spam bots. So, if you want to comment, you’ll have to contact us. Soon as I feel like letting the Bush voters explain their “morals” again, I’ll install one of those are-you-human catches.

In the mean time, I suggest you Christians start getting your house in order. You’re justifying the killing of civilians by Blackwater, the vetoing of health care for children, and your homophobia through your endless quoting of Leviticus, you’re all going to hell for eating clams, oysters, crabs, lobsters, and shrimp.

God Hates Shrimp

Yup. So, you say Leviticus says “man shall not lie with man.” Sure enough. But does that men God hates gays? Well, a lot Christians say so. So, my question for you Christians is, do you eat shrimp?

Leviticus 11:9-12 says:

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:

9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.

Killing in God’s Name

Got this e-mail recently:

Who ever said that God told anyone to vote for GWB? And as for those “hypocrits” that use Gods word to kill and maim in His name–well in the end it is they who have to face their Lord and Judge. Mankind through the ages has justified their “wars” or “crusades” as the will of God. BULLSHIT!!! God, at least the God whom I believe in never has asked anyone to go out and force His Word on anyone. All that He ask was that the Word be spread. It’s all on mankind the way that His Will has been twisted into a reason for the mis-treatment of anyone. And I feel sorry for GWB if he really believes that God asked him to do anything other than to believe and treat others as brothers and sisters in Gods eyes.
Please respond in the comments section, and I hope we get some answers as to who, exactly, said God said to vote for Bush.

Christian Environmentalism

Filed under: General, The Environment — supak.com @ 12:08 pm

Just got this as a comment over at the Bush Treason blog and thought it would be good for this site too.

There seems to be a group of vested interests who have been anointing themselves as “Christians”, while perpetuating mass-environmental destruction (eco-cide); and social justice.

You know this group.. don’t you? They have been vaunting their professed belief in the Bible, while ignoring their activities which constitute an immediate threat to human quality-of-survival on our planet.

Now consider this.. do you actually think that political leaders who actually and sincerely belived that G-d created the Universe, the Heavens, and the Earth with all life on our planet, would actually perpetuate such activities?

Creating a false impression of an affinity to G-d, has been the very basis of anointing the essentially “anti-Christ” like activities of environment-destroying capitalistocrats, who ignore messages of environmental stewardship, social justice, peace, and lovingkindness that trascends religious texts.

We are spiritually inspired by Nature as fellow environmentalists, who reject the prism of the worship of the “gods of capitalism”.

The “Environmental Movement” MUST successfully expose this apparent fundamental hypocrisy against the ‘Book of Genesis’, that “Creationists” refer to, in a timely manner, among self-professed “Christian” political leaders. Otherwise, the failure to save our planet from these apparent Christians poseurs, will potentially be imminent, with catastophic outcomes… which are already precipitating, i.e. Global Warming.. ecocides.. etc.

We are a covergence of progressive muti-faith communities with environmental and social activists.

We would further appreciate if you could html link your internet site to ours, in order to help support our public awareness efforts.

The Establishment Clause

Filed under: General, Church and State — supak.com @ 9:43 pm

If the establishment clause of the constitution was changed by the Supreme Court to allow the establishment of State religions (as long as it didn’t establish a federal religion), what religion would you want your state to be?

Do you think that would lead to discrimination against other religions in your state?

How would you feel if your religion was different than the State religion?

Would this lead to prayers in school only for students that practice the State religion, and what should happen to students of other religions?

God Blessed America Already

Filed under: The Environment — Rob @ 8:16 pm

Why isn’t the environment considered sacred? After all, isn’t nature the most fundamental way God has blessed us? He didn’t make man first for a reason, right? We can’t live without a healthy earth, don’t you agree?

Terri S’s date with God

Where is the respect for Mrs. Schiavo’s marriage?
